15 09 20081st/2nd period—-We did order of operation problems for bellwork and worked them on the board. We did a quick lesson on variables & expressions(putting numbers in for variables), completed 20(26-33), and worked them on the board. The students have “Puzzling Expressions”( a crossnumber puzzle) to complete for homework—NO CALCULATORS!!!!!!
3rd/4th period—- We did “Word Problems” 2-3 & 2-4 for bellwork. It took longer than I thought it would so we got in groups and worked them together. We went over the vocabulary crossword & word find from chapter 1. The vocabulary test tomorrow will come directly from those. This second test counts for everyone no matter what the grade. IF it helps the student to average the first grade with the second, then I will to help out on the FIRST test—-but the test tomorrow will remain as-is.
HOMEWORK: 84(12-30) & vocabulary test.
