1st/2nd period—-We went over the homework and worked a few problems from the Interactive Chalkboard covering lessons 1 & 2 from chapter 3. We took the quiz. We started the lesson on Coordinate Graphing and will continue it Monday.

3rd/4th period—-We went over some of the homework problems on the board. We took a quiz over lessons 1 & 2 chapter 1. They began working on a small sheet of problems involving the order of operations.

1st/2nd period—- We did p105(12-26)even for bellwork. We covered Comparing & Ordering Integers. We worked on our +/_ illustrations and diagnostic tests. Homework is to complete p111(11-31)odd. We will take a grade over chapter 3 lessons 1 & 2 tomorrow. Finish the illustration if you have not already, also. 

3rd/4th period—- We did p10(15, 17, 18, 20) for bellwork. We covered Variables, Expressions, & Properties. We will take a grade over chapter 1 lessons 1 & 2 tomorrow. Homework is to complete p15(43-48). 

1st/2nd period—-We continued to work on p105(1-22). We covered (3-1)Integers & Absolute Value. Some students continued the diagnostic test from yesterday. Homework is to complete a rough draft of an illustration involving positive and negative situations (i.e. golf, altitude-plane/submarine, debt/profit…). We will complete the final draft in class. We will take two grades Friday. One over Integers & Absolute Value and the other over (3-2)Comparing & Ordering Integers.

3rd/4th period—-We continued work on 5(1-24). We covered a lesson on problem-solving. We solved a problem involving cows and chickens. We continued to work on the diagnostic test. Homework is to complete 1-1 PRACTICE:SKILLS worksheet. Show how you solved the problem. Friday we will take two grades–one over problem-solving, the other over (1-2)VARIABLES, EXPRESSIONS, & PROPERTIES.

1st/2nd period—We took a diagnostic test to see what concepts we need to work on from 6th grade. Most students did not finish so we will continue tomorrow. We will take the results of this test and use Practice Probes to practice on the concepts that each individual needs. 

3rd/4th period—We took a diagnostic test to see what concepts we need to work on from 7th grade. Most students did not finish so we will continue tomorrow. We will take the results of this test and use Practice Probes to practice on the concepts that each individual needs. 

I am looking forward to a great year. The start of the school year involves a lot of administrative stuff. Please get all the stuff that needs to be returned to school as soon as possible. Also, if you would email me with your child’s name in the subject line so I can create a contact list. You can tell me whatever you think I need to know or nothing at all. The first week will be used to take diagnostic tests, transition skill worksheets, pre-tests, etc…… to see where we are.
